A Boy and His Wii

So, after many months of patience and waiting, Allen finally got his Nintendo Wii last night. There was a little note in our mailbox stating that they had tried to deliver it, but couldn’t without a signature. With much reluctance, I headed off to the post office to pick it up. When Allen arrived home from work, it was a lot like a scene out of some of his dad’s old Christmas home videos. Needless to say, stitching and American Idol were put aside last night to hang out with Allen and play Wii. I am very proud to say that I Wii-bowled a 145 and performed several major surgeries with only two fatalities. Quite an interesting evening.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts about my neck/shoulder. It is actually starting to feel better. Unfortunatly, feeling better means I need to rest my arm, which means minimal typing and stitching. I wouldn’t be so heart broken to cut out the typing, but I would fall sooo behind at work. Stitching on the other hand…I think I am in withdrawal. I also learned last night that Wii Tennis is not good for anyone with any kind of upper body discomfort. Right now I am being bad and stitching anyway.

  1. We love our Wii. Of course, my eight year old can beat us at all of the games, except golf.

  2. I have been avoiding all those gaming things that every body seems to have. The Wii is very intriguing to me, I think I have to have one. I am priming my daughters by saying, “Well, it’s better gaming, you are not just sitting and playing, you are up and moving around!” (Doesn’t it seem strange that I have to convince my kids it would be good for me???) LOL

  3. LOL! I bet that was like a scene out of a Christmas home movie! It made me smile thinking about it!

  4. Congratulations to Allen – I know he sure did wait forever for the Wii!!! Glad you feel a bit better too!

  5. Ooooh, I love my Wii, too! There’s nothing like working out arguments about who ate the last of the cookies with Wii Boxing!

  6. We haven’t gotten one yet. What games did you buy, along with the console? I assume that you bought an extra controller, too. I think that ours will have to wait until the tax refund because I’m about to buy a second PS2 for upstairs so that I can DDR in the master bedroom. 😀
